Life Assurance Society reports 149,065 policies and surplus
Managing Director presided as the Life Assurance Society announced 149,065 new policies totaling £11,513,425 in coverage an increase of £894,345 from last year. Accident and ordinary departments issued 17,511 and 8,114 policies with accident benefits. Total income stood at £3,893,240 with £1,515,772 paid to policy-holders. Investments were £19,278,719 with 64 percent in government and local loans. A £50,000 write-off and £50,000 contingency transfer were noted. The actuarial report showed a £691,609 surplus and reversionary bonuses. The chairman urged business men to prefer life policies with T and G.
