Manilla Council Grants Public Holidays And Street Works
Manilla Municipal Council meets with Mayor presiding and Aldermen in attendance. The Agricultural Society and the Business Men's Association seek gazetted holidays for March 21 1934 and December 27 1933 to January 2 1934. gazettal to proceed. The Prickly Pear Commission and water service expansion for horse yards are discussed. Transfers of property are approved and a subsidy for water to the Recreation ground is granted. Debates include pensioner rate issues, street trading regulations, and dust nuisance. Reports on valuations, parks plans, road and reserve adjustments, and a grazing lease bid are reviewed. The next meeting is set around December 26 with relief work boots distribution arranged.
