A substantial reward will be paid to any person other than an accomplice supplying information leading to the conviction of any person for stealing stock laying poison or trespassing on Eloura or Hazel Chan.

The Graziers Association held its monthly meeting in Manilla with President G B Park in the chair. Members discussed shed hand pay, the Manilla Bendemeer toad as a main road, and nominating for the coming year. A motion to include four base lines of wool and a push to expedite mistletoe inquiries were noted. The meeting also applauded the Pastoral Employment Guide and welcomed L T Sanderson of Narrabri.
The annual prize giving day at Mauilla Rural School will be held on Wednesday with prizes and trophies for scholastic and sporting success in the secondary department. A Christmas tree for the infants will be in the kindergarten room and parents are invited to attend. School closes next Thursday for a six week Christmas vacation. At the municipal council meeting last Thursday a letter from the Manila Agricultural Society asked to acquire Crown land between the recreation ground and the new road to the low level bridge for a show ground extension. The aim is to add parking and later move livestock sections to combine exhibits. The Deputy Mayor noted the land is a reserve for access. Alderman Wilshire proposed applying to the District surveyor to formalize the acquisition, a motion carried unanimously with Ald. Kennedy seconding.
