Manilla election sees small turnout and narrow win
In Saturday's municipal election at Manilla the poll was the smallest in 25 years with 311 votes cast and 305% formal. Alderman A G Doring won by two votes over C Ghys, amid a block vote pattern and signals of no strong desire for change. Doring, a noted local farmer and leader in Wheatgrowers and Labor circles, has served Manilla for over 20 years and holds multiple regional positions.
