Manilla Society Forms Its First Governing Body
The Manilla Musical and Dramatic Society held its inaugural meeting on Thursday with broad attendance. Officers elected include Patron the Mayor Ald A R McLeod, President F Hayward, Vice Presidents H I Alinutt and C R Maunder, Honorary Secretary A P Cohen, Treasurer A V Shelton, and committee members including Mesdames Maunder Embury and Miss E O'Brien. Membership fixed at 5 shillings per annum. A light comedy will be produced soon with N Scott and Mrs N Scott as producers. A bank account will be opened. Maunder named Publicity Officer. Committee to draft rules for next meeting on May 3.
