Twenty first Synod of Armidale Diocese session concluded
The twenty first Synod of the Armidale Diocese met last week in Manilla representatives Rev T Hunter Baratt and W Jackson and H Rudd. Bishop Moyes opened with a vision of a world history movement and the need for enduring values. The Bishop’s presidential report noted a tough year yet growing spiritual life, numerous parish visits, and 1166 confirmations, with missions at Walgett Ashford Emmaville and Tamworth. Diocesan finances showed varied balances across funds, and New England Girls School reported 142 girls now on register after a year with strong exam results. Motion to pay clergy stipends directly from the Diocesan Registry passed. The Synod also approved the Church Trust Property Insurance and Share Investment Ordinance and noted shooting scores from early April.
