Commencement Planned for Granite High Thirty-One Seniors
Graduation exercises set for 8:00 p.m. Friday May 13 at Granite High School with an awards assembly at 10:30 a.m. and Alumni Banquet at 6 p.m. May 14 Dwight Hogg announced. The class lists 31 seniors with numerous honors in athletics arts and student leadership including valedictorians, salutatorians, and various club roles across FHA 4 H choir sports and student government.

Granite 4-H land judging team places fifth in state meet
The Granite 4-H Club Land Judging Team finished fifth in the state contest held April 23 at Stillwater with 26 teams competing. Team members were Judy Wilson Kevin Kirby Terry Allen and Jody James. Judy Wilson earned sixth place individually in the state competition.

Granite ALA Recognized At Seventh District Meeting
The Granite American Legion Auxiliary unit 177 earned an award for meeting its membership quota at the Seventh District Convention on April 24 in Altus. Mrs. Warren Steele, unit president, accepted the honor and served on the nominating committee. Officers will be elected and installed at the next convention. ALA members joined the Legion for a noon luncheon at Friendship Inn where Department Commander Jim Rutherford delivered the keynote. The next project is promoting Poppy Day this month.
