Flora Hill announces Carolyn Weaver Hooley as the Business and Professional Women’s Club nominee for the nationwide Young Careerist Contest. District winners are named March 9, with a state victor at the late April B P W conference. age 19 to 26. Hooley, 1968 Mangum High School graduate, is married to Colin Hooley and mother of a daughter, Chery. She has held leadership roles in American Legion Auxiliary and Young Homemakers, is active in Jaycees and chamber groups, and works as a bookkeeper for Farmers Union Cooperative Gin.

Conner Harris of Willow died suddenly on February 24. Services were held in Alva on Saturday. A longtime educator, Harris retired in 1973 after 46 years in teaching and served as principal and superintendent in multiple districts including Dacoma Verne, Luther Hill, Sharon, Eastview, Lahoma and Selman. Survived by his wife two sons Dr Gary Harris Stillwater Joe Lee Seattle and two daughters Janice Harris Bartlesville Barbara Elmore, among others.

Howard Hembree, Ken sington, Md., arrives this week for a visit with sister Floy Sechler. They will visit another sister Yelton Spencer in El Paso, Texas. CWU Area Workshop Set by Church Women United
