Death of Jim Mann Tied to Rare Larvel Tapeworm Case
Jim Mann died in Cortez after a long illness described as the first known American case of a larvel tapeworm disease. Dr. H Gates treated him for years without success, and after examinations at a state medical meeting he was sent to Tampa for hospital care. An autopsy by Drs H Gates and T M McDuffee was performed in The Record store room before burial. A fuller report on the disease and autopsy results is promised next week.
