John N. C. Stockton signals his candidacy for governor after pressure from across Florida. He cites broad support from friends and former opponents and argues the governor’s office offers the greatest ability to serve the people within the Democratic primaries next year.
The Bradenton meeting of the Board of Public Instruction included A F Wyman chair man W H Harrison with W M Rowlett secretary A M Wilson of Miakka joined after receiving his governor commission to serve District 8. Trustee elections from Oct 2 were canvassed for multiple districts.
Manatee county circuit court begins a new term Tuesday with many civil cases and at least one murder on the docket. Judge Wall expected to cover Manatee as fully as possible before moving to Monroe county, while officials prep court house and adjournment procedures. District appointments and district-specific lists accompany the large docket. monthly teachers reports and miscellaneous accounts totaling 3061.82 are approved for warrants.

A 1907 Tallahassee letter explains Sea board Air Line charges excess freight rates and urges Manatee Florida residents to file claims for back overcharges. The commission notes few claimants have pursued refunds and warns the matter continues on page 4 with no overcharges on Tampa shipments due to a continuation of the suit.
Jacksonville embraces plans for a three month Florida Mid-Winter Exposition starting January 15 at Dixie Land Park. Organized by Jamestown Exposition supporters, the event will feature county displays, prize money, a Palace of Industry, and mid way attractions including Eden Musee and Camel Streets of Cairo.
