Substantial Bridge Under Construction in Manatee County

The Braden River bridge project under Contractor Pulliam is described as one of the best constructed in the county. Inspectors praise heart lumber sturdy palmetto piling and careful bracing. When finished the bridge will span about 3200 feet and may be the county’s longest. Completion expected within a month or so.

Grouper Banks Fishing Trip Delights Tourists

A party of ten to twelve tourists enjoyed a grouper fishing trip in the Land of the Manatee. Though the catch by home locals was slower than hoped, the group still landed sixty to one hundred fish in about thirty minutes, with groupers weighing ten to twenty pounds each.
