Editors from Sarasota Palmetto Bradenton and Manatee meet in Bradenton on December 11 1907. C V S Wilson elected president and Frank A Walpole secretary. Agreement raises county paper subscriptions to 150 per year starting January 1 1908. Meeting adjourned to reconvene in January.

Independent Line to Tampa Offers Free Exhibits for State Fair

Manager D B High announces the Independent Line will carry exhibits from points along its line to Tampa free of charge to support the state fair. Tampa Sarasota Line will offer excursion rates during the fair and serves Sarasota bay area. Manatee county residents expect stronger county presence at the fair. Christmas Tree Planned by Manatee Sunday School

The Manatee Sunday School will hold its Christmas tree event next Tuesday night at the Methodist church. A literary and musical program will be presented and Santa Claus will appear. Supt. R. H. Johnson invites the public to attend and bring presents to be placed on the tree, with a committee handling delivery and placement. The group has a history of successful Christmas trees.

Oranges Shipped Heavily From Manatee Wharf

Over 1,200 boxes of oranges were shipped from the Manatee wharf last Saturday, the heaviest day of the season. Most fruit was packed by K. W. Wiggins who now runs the wharf packing house only, after closing his Braden River facility. Wiggins is the largest orange buyer and shipper on the south side of the river, praised for careful packing and timely shipping to northern markets.
