Judge Landis in Chicago federal court orders Standard Oil Company of Indiana to pay 29 240 000 dollars for rail rebate violations. He calls company officials counterfeiters and thieves and says the law must be enforced with a grand jury panel to probe other parties.
A humorous note on Deacon Jones' distillery bill, dry weather prayers, and ineffective governmental weather control follows a reader letter from Elba Alabama praising Herbine for constipation and liver relief. The ad fragment ends with a testimonial about Herbine sold by J M Samuel.
