Social Happenings Candlelight Ceremony for Beverly Schultz and Philip Dashner

Beverly Schultz and Philip Dashner wed at United Beverly City M Church in a candlelight double ring ceremony officiated by Bertoy Pullanin. The bride wore a silk bouffant gown with lace and pearls, carried a white Bible with pink orchids, and was given in marriage by her father. Attendants wore rose satin, and a reception followed the ceremony.

Garden Club Members Tour Trial Gardens

Garden Club members toured trial gardens amid rough weather. They passed by facilities near Cremenid and Cl Prete to see sites in the area. The group later returned to Lilly’s home for a focus session with members including Gael Baelibwit Priges and Ehon before the next meeting at MM Clamlotte Kuti on Tuesday, March 12.

Mentors Discuss Foreign Trip as Club Plans December Meeting

The group reviewed a possible trip to Oinatia for the December session, deferring decisions to the Geto her merting. A picnic for indoors members and families was held on Aug 22 with most attendees present. An absentee shower for Mrs. Robert Terry of St. Louis Mo accepted last Thursday night at the home of Mrs. N P Crink. Hostess aide Mrs. Gail Cronkite coordinated pink mums and white wedding bells. Dessert luncheon on small tables followed the color theme. gifts for a kitchen were wrapped, with Mrs T E Salyers and Mrs Raburn Benton's packages praised as best wrapped. Mrs Elizabeth Henderson of Glenwood attended as an out of town guest.

Bridge Party Honors Mrs. Mary Woodward at Luncheon

Mrs. Fred Buttimann entertained Thursday at a one o'clock luncheon and two tables of bridge. Honored guest was Mrs. Mary Woodward of Hot Springs, Ark. Mrs. Hazel Summers held high score and Mrs. Mildred Fickel had low.

Training Retreat for MYF Officers at Glenwood Sun

A local South Sub district MYR retreat for MYF officers convened at Glenwood Methodist Church on Sunday evening. Sharon Cowden welcomed attendees from Tabor with Kathy Sell guiding songs and announcements. A MYR counselor clinic was led by Carroll Browar of Council Bluffs, followed by a fellowship time and worship led by the Silver City MYF group. The district MYER Rally is set for Atlantic on November 26 with Klug from Christian Athletics Asia aiding the event.

Former Strahan Resident Crowned Farm Industry Queen

Mrs. Carole Greenlee of Peru Nebraska won the mink stole and was named Queen of Farm Industry Day in Shenandoah. Her husband Merrill, a Peru State College senior, plans to teach history and geography. They have a 14 month old son Michel. Greenlee is a former Strahan resident and sister of Glen Clark of Malvern.

Young Republicans To Meet In Des Moines Saturday

A civic event designed to boost political participation for young Iowans will be held in Des Moines on Saturday September 25. The program titled Young Ameren Day is sponsored by three Iowa Republican auxiliary groups the Iowa Council of Republican Women the Iowa Republican Workshop and the state’s Young Republicans. Teenagers and college students are invited.
