Children’s Home Society drives volunteers in Iowa

Volunteers for the Iowa Children’s Home Society begin outreach this week, soliciting support from neighbors to aid in care for children and unwed mothers. Kensington to Hold Eastern Star Meetings

Kensington Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star plans its regular meeting Tuesday September 19 at 8 pm in the Masonic Temple. Past Matrons and Past Patrons will be honored, with plans for the Grand Chapter Session in Des Moines October 12 to be finalized. A separate gathering with Mrs. J A Kline is set for Friday September 15 at 1 pm to discuss projects. attendees are asked to bring old greeting cards and Butter Nut coffee drips.

Miller Barnett Marriage Vows Exchanged in Omaha and Glenwood

Miss Sandra Miller daughter of Mr and Mrs Homer Miller and George Barnett of Mabton Washington wed Sept 7 at the Miller home in Omaha in a private ceremony attended by the bride’s parents and grandparents. A second ceremony was held Saturday at First Baptist Church Glenwood officiated by Rev Arthur Marston with family present. The groom is in the army and will be stationed in Germany. the bride will reside in Glenwood.

Miss Donna Porter of Minneapolis Minnesota and Vern Knop of Council Bluffs plan an October wedding at St John’s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Lowell Miller of Malvern, formerly Shirley Moore, was feted at a large prenuptial miscellan eus shower August 30 at Tibor Methodist Church. About fifty guests attended. out of town visitors included Mrs. Charles Moore and Mrs. Louis Miller. Hostesses listed. two games played followed by gift lines. Decorations featured a white heart centerpiece with bells lilies and blue satin accents. Cakes decorated in blue and white were served. Relbert Miller poured the cola.

Knapp Marsden Wedding Held In Red Oak Service

Miss Carolyn Knapp of Des Moines became the bride of Kenneth Marsden son of Red Oak residents on Sunday September 10 at two o clock in the afternoon. Rev William Fry officiated at the Methodist ceremony with white gladioli and red roses decorations. Bridesmaids wore red brocade satin gowns and carried red rose bouquets. A reception followed in the church parlors with guests and family present.
