Stanleys to Celebrate 50th Anniversary at Thurman Home
Mr and Mrs Jack Stanley of Thurman plan a family party September eleventh to mark their fifty years of marriage. They wed September 6 1927 in Council Bluffs Iowa at the Baptist parsonage with Rev Carlin. Their family includes three sons Donald Ross Bernard Brooks and James Dale with six grandsons and three granddaughters. Family attendants included Des Moines Karla Morse Dell Proctor. The reception followed a ceremony with a multi color bouquet and cake by Leonard Parker of Malvern. The couple recently traveled and reflect on their long partnership and family ties.

The couple s parents are Mrs Lorraine Perkins Hastings and Mr and Mrs Howard Wilson Wesley Chapel.

Lisa Plumb daughter of Mr and Mrs George Plumb of Glenwood Bridgeport Conn has been chosen to represent Iowa in the Miss World U S A Beauty Pageant. The Malvern United Methodist Women met Sept 1 with 30 members present. Nominating members proposed a slate for the coming year and the budget was approved. All meetings shift to 1:30 p.m. Shenandoah district meeting is set for Oct 4 at the Methodist church with Make $10 Grow and World Bank Fund projects to be discussed. The Pantry fundraiser at Virginia Kelso’s Beauty Shop is Sept 17 for Malvern Rescue Unit. Margaretta Hays led a lesson on Our Relationship to God. Mary Lou Wearin Jessie Frazier and Lucile Kline served refreshments. Mary Ruth Circle meets Sept 8 at 1:30 p.m.
