Weekend Visits Highlight Local Anguses and Gruber

Miss Ann Edith Angus spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. Hertha Angus. Miss Virginia Gruber visited with Mr. and Mrs. David Angus. They returned to Oakland where both teach. Mrs. Mortig Woodfill’s W. S. C. S. served a chicken dinner to Malvern Rotarians and guests in the church basement. High school girls acted as waitresses. centerpieces featured chrysanthemums and glittersweet with fall leaves. The menu included tomato juice cocktail, baked chicken, whipped potatoes, buttered carrots and peas, cole slaw, pickles, olives, cranberry jelly, hot rolls, coffee, and powdered sugar cake.

Kensington Baptism and Chicken Pie Supper Reach Funds

Kensington Baptist society met at Mrs. Clff Stewart's home with twelve members and one visitor. Alt a Pullman led a devotional and the group raised nearly 150 dollars from a Saturday chicken pie supper. The issue notes community moves, travels, and a Masonic banquet with Rev. F. G. Barnes speaking on Time, plus multiple social and church activities across Silver City and nearby towns.
