Hoar presided as chair with all board members present. The meeting discussed land classification and the Watkins ditch district. bids were opened and the lowest bid accepted for a contract. work details and taxes were reviewed and the session adjourned.
A community gathering for teachers and patrons to discuss public school work at Strahan on Friday evening and Saturday with accommodation, meals, and sessions led by Supt Moore. Attendees advised to bring display work and participate. Friday night program includes music and talks. Saturday sessions are free.
A detailed report of a spirited football game between Malvern and Tabor played last Saturday at Latter Place. Malvern led early with 6 to 0 and 10 to 0 after touchdowns by Cunningham and Smith while Bell missed goals. Tabor answered with two touchdowns and a goal, later pulling ahead 11 to 10 before Malvern surged to 16 to 18 and finally 16 to 11 in Malvern’s favor after late scoring and errors.
