The community hosted several gatherings with notable attendees. Helen Sanders and others led a program. Ames and nearby families celebrated milestones. Dinners honored anniversaries for Jack Forgerm and Bob Hes, with numerous households and guests noted across Council Bluffs and surrounding towns.
The Malvern Town Council adopted a resolution directing the town clerk to prepare an estimate of levy to fund sewer construction bonds amounting to $17,000.00. The hearing on the levy is set for October 22 1968 in the town hall at 7 30 P M with publication of the notice required in English. The measure accompanies past contracts with Howard Anderson Trenching Co. Inc. of Omaha Nebraska and reflects the town's plan to finance sewer improvements through general obligation bonds.
The Malvern Council adjourned on Monday evening October 22 at 7 30 with financial entries including tax receipts of 4150 for Employment Security, 914 48 WATS and 87 3 for road funds. Reports show fund allocations across Street Fund Public Safety Fund Sanitation Fund Debt Service Fund Utilities Fund and more under Clerk's month report by Woodford R Byington.
