Community news centers on a large church event at the Silver City Methodist Church with a 4 H program, a church wedding, and numerous social visits. The Sept/Oct items include a garden party, family reunions, travels to Ames, and Harvest Homecoming plans at the church with a basket dinner.

Imogene S Mills will be confirmed at 10 a m on Tuesday October 22 by Rev Gerald T Dergran bishop of Des Moines at St Patrick's church. A class will receive the sacrament with instruction from the bishop. The item also notes a local gravel truck wreck near Imogene with minor injuries and various social visits and community events across the area.
Mr and Mrs B J Lookabill and daughter Ruth with Dick Smith returned from a two week Western state trip. They saw Salt Lake City Mormon tabernacle and organ, Arcadia California coastal redwoods, Yakima apple country, and Greeley Colorado visits. Snow and sleet hindered the return drive.
Kenneth Proctor and son Billy with ten Proctor kin arrived Saturday to visit Tiny Proctor and family. Messengers visited north of Coin of Hinifis, Mr. and Mrs. W F Messenger stayed with her brother Bqthar neid. Mrs. James Henderson and Janet visited Glenwood with her parents Ray and Mrs Wiles. Jerry Messenger sustained a tetanus shot after stepping on a wall during chores. Silver City high schoolabsences followed. E L Gilbert family celebrated Mrs. Gilbert's birthday in Omaha with daughter Dorothy. Frank DuVal dined with Mae Rowe north of Glenwood. W H Maddocks transacted business in Shenandoah. Jason Benscoter and Kenneth Burgett with Judy of Oakland visited the Shaws Sunday. Charles Mapes left Paul Benedicts to live with relatives in Alma, Neb., Vernon Mapes escorted him Friday. Mrs. John Bartholomew and Roger and Billy of Tabor visited Shafer family. Dinner guests included Paul Benedict and Phyilis Ann.
Mr and Mrs Alva Decker Alvina of Glenwood attended the Mystery Circle meeting at Pant Benedict home with two members and a visitor. Plans were made for a bazaar to be held at the school house Friday night Oct 25. Several local visits and social gatherings are noted including visits by the Swantons, Langs, Viners, and Marsdens with relatives in Red Oak Kanees City and Kansas City Missouri.
