Silver City notes list numerous family visits and social events across Nebraska and nearby towns. Mentions include engagements, births, dinners, and guests from Emerson, Denver, Lincoln, Fullerton, and Omaha. Memorial services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Silver City Methodist church for Vila Jane Howard Skerritt. The Rev. Ora T. Keep conducted the rites with pallbearers and flower chairs named. She died October 8 at age 87. The obituary details a large family, pioneer origins from Ohio, marriage to John T. Skerritt, seven children, and long church involvement.
Mrs Orvan Grudie led the Rawles extension club on Oct 6 with Miss Katherine Harris visiting from New York. The group planned a 27 member tour to Joslyn Memorial and Bars Town on Oct 20 leaving at 9 am and returning by 5 pm.
Jesse Harhold and Paul Roenfeldt thank the Malvern fire department and others who assisted during a recent fire, expressing gratitude for prompt response and support.
The Jolly Tanes Club hosted Mrs Saunders Rose with 10 members present and Mrs Wine Huff as co host. Entertainment was led by Mrs Fred Lem lems. Sixty seven attended church services at Oaks Sunday with offerings totaling 14 32. Several social visits and family gatherings are noted along with religious study and quilting activity.
Core y Wroate with 4 H club members listed among Red Oak residents. Relatives visited Woershine and Malvern, with Mrs Date Osborn traveling to Flint Michigan for a new car. Mrs Wayne Bird hospitalized in Red Oak. Ray Lemons car fire reported at the Fred Lemon home from unknown cause. Mrs Dean Warren and Jane were mentioned in passing.
Mrs Paul Weeds, Simday Toon, Atep Me, and Mrs Edwitt Ambrose with Nancy attended Friday evening at L E Brammveier home. Ralph Viner and Stanley Williams families shared a Wiener Tas Tuesday evening in the same community.
