Emerson Woman's Club Tour of Red Oak News

Emerson Woman's Club members and guests toured Red Oak for the October meeting visiting the Telephone Company building and Murphy's Calendar Factory. A snack and brief business session followed at Tom's Steamboat Room with new member welcomed and district meeting urged in Council Bluffs.

Moody Girls Host Wiener Roast With Young Auxiliary

The Junior American Legion Auxiliary met at Tori and Shori Moody s home for a wiener roast Friday with 20 members and five new members Patty Johnson Janice George Marilyn Wax Sherry Greenwood and Cynthia Lange present Officers include Georgia Lunn chairman Diane Lang first vice chair Sandra Barna second vice chairman Janice George secretary Sue Ann Simpson treasurer Linda Johnson car lain and Laurie Davis historian They planned to send cards and handkerchiefs to Mrs Mabel Honeyman for her service. PTA meeting moved to Friday at 6 p m with Port Stitt district probation officer of Clarinda as guest speaker A room prize of 4 00 will go to the room with the most parents present.

Firemen Extinguish Two Roadside Fires South of Town

Fire department was called Wednesday to extinguish two roadside fires south of town. Heavy drought warnings urged caution as dry conditions persist and rain is badly needed.
