Federated Clubs Set 7th District Convention in Corning
The Annual Seventh District Convention of Federated Women's clubs will be held Oct. 6 at First Presbyterian Church in Corning. Registration is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The theme is Bicentennial Preview 1776 1876. Elections for district officers include Mrs. Robert Byers Mills County chairman urging club women to attend.

Otto Hall has a birthday on October fifth and the Hastings Federated club hosted a September party on the sixteenth with Bingo and fresh fruit prizes. Bertha Stewart dined at Lyle Stewarts in Glenwood on September twenty first, and Alvena Wasserman celebrated her ninety sixth birthday on September twenty fifth with family dinner and an after party. A ladies group transplanted plants at a farm, observed winter radishes and onions, and Bertha Stewart stayed overnight September twenty fourth at the home of her daughter in Council Bluffs. Verner Anderson visited Red Oak for a day trip. Gratitude is extended to St John’s Lutheran church for the Sunday service.

Mrs Phoebe Goodell returned Friday from Shenandoah where she visited her daughter Mrs Harvey Vermillion and family. Mr Otto Leipold of Glenwood and Mr Leonard Parker shared visits. Parkers were dinner guests at the Brower home in Hillsdale. Kenneth Henderson moved to Malvern into a new home purchased recently. Mrs Henderson reentered Omaha Methodist hospital for treatments. Mrs Bob Henderson of Glenwood underwent major surgery and is a patient. Roger Alexander and Debra Farmer wed in Malvern Baptist church Saturday evening.
