Mills county plans a major three day event in Malvern December 10 11 and 12 featuring the annual corn show and a dairy show with a new dairy feature. Prizes total about 350 dollars with extensive premiums, promising a large turnout of corn growers and lively competitions across many divisions.

Big Sale At Windy Summitt Stock Farm December Ninth

A large sale of Shorthorn cattle and driving and draft horses is announced for Windy Summitt Stock Farm 81 miles southeast of Malyerd on Monday December 9. The offering features 11 registered Shorthorns with seven bulls and 13 cows and heifers, plus 16 head of horses including roadsters and draft stock. Managed by H. Li Summers, the sale includes stock from leading Shorthorn strains, all breeders guaranteed, with many chosen for growth potential. The event also highlights stock at Windy Summitt such as Jennets, White Lingshin chickens, Chester White swine, and Mammoth White Holland Turkeys, inviting all to attend and enjoy the farm’s hospitality.

Tragic Death Of Two-Year-Old Max Reed In Hastings

Max Reed two and a half year old son of Prof and Mrs J D Reed of Silver City and Emerson schools drowned in a vault at an outhouse behind his Hastings home. His father attempted rescue as the platform collapsed and the boy sank. Dr Schaufelberger attempted revival but he was dead upon removal. Funeral planned from the family home with Rev Trites officiating. grandparents Mr and Mrs Alexander of York have traveled to Hastings after the news.
