Mr and Mrs George Hunt of 304 Nall Road Council Bluffs will be honored at a reception Sunday November 28 to observe their fortieth wedding anniversary. The event runs 2 to 5 p.m. at Danish Hall 716 4th Street Council Bluffs hosted by their children Larry Hunt Emerson A Dean Hunt Council Bluffs and Jon Kemp Malvern with no gifts requested.
Robin Ryun daughter of Mariene Ryun of Malvern married Denny Ellis son of Mr and Mrs Hallie Ellis of Malvern on Monday Nov 18. Attendants Pam Weak and Terry Grey. Denny an Airman 1st Class at Offutt AFB. Robin a senior at Malvern Community High School. Family reception at Wesley Ryans in Glenwood.
Unit 520 Harry Hammons American Legion Auxiliary met at 9 30 a.m. in Malvern with 10 members. Mae Robinson presided, Sylvia Klonis hosted, and members heard treasurer’s report. Reports covered Veterans Day dinner, gifts, and upcoming Valentine bake sale and December meeting plans.
The notice urges watching the paper for the date. A workshop in Neola is set for November 29. A County meeting in Emerson Community building is November 30 at 6 30 p.m. Potluck and table service requested. Meeting starts at 7 30.

Malvern Thirty-Niners met at the Community building on November 16 with 23 present for a birthday party. Mildred Bingham celebrated a birthday. Plans for a potluck Christmas dinner on December 7 were made with ham furnished by the Senior Citizens Club. A grab bag was approved for men and women. all seniors are welcome.
Mrs. Ross (Avis) Becker, seventh district American Legion Auxiliary president, will be honored with an open house at Cumberland Legion Hall on December 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. The event is hosted by Donald Lee Unit 320 American Legion Auxiliary and invites Auxiliary and Legion members plus friends.
Dorothy Keith and Extension Home Economists from Page and Fremont counties present Basket Bonanza, a craft workshop on coil basketry at the Emerson Community building from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. The program is the third in the Heritage Arts for Today's Living crafts short course sponsored by Mills County Extension Service, with a $1 materials fee.
Virginia Stinard representing Mills County helped launch the Metropolitan Arts Council MAC Membership Drive on November 12 1977. The bi state council serves multiple counties in Iowa and Nebraska as its first full year of operation under a full time staff and a six county advisory board. Robert Knox and Richard Peterson serve on the MAC Executive Committee. Dr. Robert J. Glass presides as board president and outlines MAC’s goal to unite area arts groups and artists.
