Armistice Day Observed Quietly In Locality Play Shown
Armistice day passed with a quiet observance in the town as residents attended the play Gheat House at the Community building. Market reports show corn prices rising from 10 to 16 cents or more, with hopes of reaching production costs to aid belt farmers. A cold wind slowed corn husking, and snow earlier kept it delayed until the week’s end. Wayne and Earl Shaw helped their brother Lesa with farm chores as he recovers from an arm injury. Lesa has begun sheep raising, evident from his large flock in pasture. Real estate transfers in Mills County include Walter Hilton to Grace Hilton for 17,870 dollars in 44-72-42 and Bertha Jamison to Margaret Jamison for 250 dollars plus undivided shares in Glenwood properties.
