Fincher Hedlund Couple Wed In Glenwood Ceremony

Fincher and Hedlund exchanged marriage vows on November 11 in a ceremony at the Plattsmouth church conducted by Rev. Paul Sei. The bride wore an empire waist lace gown with a velvet leaf pillbox veil and pink rose bouquet. Miss Sharon Neeghire of Omaha was maid of honor, Robert Killion of Glenwood was best man. A wedding supper followed at the Comet club in Glenwood. The couple will reside in Glenwood after a short trip. he is a senior mechanic at Refrigerated Express in Pacific Junction, she works for Fann Aid Services Center in Silver City.

Miss Cunningham Feted at Miscellaneous Shower

Elizabeth Queningham of North Platte Nebraska was honored at a Monday evening miscellaneous shower hosted by Mrs. Larry Maynes south of Malvern. Twenty two guests attended a mock marriage skit with groom role by Mrs. Terry Forney and bride’s father by Mrs. Roy Robinson. Gifts in avocado green and gold were opened as refreshments of cupcakes coffee mints and pots were served by hosts Mrs. Maynes Mrs. Forney and Mrs. Richey. Cunningham plans to wed Bernard Robinson December 28 in North Platte Nebraska.

Malvern Garden Club Holds Thanksgiving Themed Meeting

Twenty members attended the Malvern Garden Club gathering at Mrs. Ruth Darrah's home. With absence of the president, vice president Mrs. Louis Knep led the business session. The program "Meditations on Thanksgiving" by Mrs. Lucille Crink honored holiday themes and several poems were read by Airy Darrah, followed by refreshments.

Funeral Services for Vera McNay

Vera May McNay daughter of John B and Tisha McClelland Mc Nay was born Sept 8 1901 north of Silver City and died Nov 6 1967 at age 77. She loved music and flowers and attended Evergreen school. Survived by sister Onaard Grate McNay of Silver City and many friends. Funeral held at Silver City Methodist Church conducted by Rev E LeRoy Prtlman with offertory and registry duties by church members. Burial in Silver City cemetery.

Funeral Services Held for Edith Briley

Memorial services were held Thursday at Mansfield Funeral Home for Edith Victoria Briley born April 12 1896 in Shenandoah. The Rev Earl Kelley officiated with casket bearers Dwight Kelley James Kelley Marvin Nelson Lyle Howard Paul Tackett Harry Porter. Interment in Hastings cemetery followed. Edith lived most of her life in Hastings taught school in several communities and married William Anthony Briley in 1931. She endured illness yet remained devout and caring, survived by son Donald wife Marlon two grandsons William Ernest John Anthony, sister Ruth Kelley and brother Charles Carlson, with husband Anthony preceding her in death. She died November 6 at Mercy Hospital after a heart attack.

Irvin joins GE as Electronic Circuit Design Technician

John D. Irvin of Malvern graduates from Iowa Tech Area XV Vocation School Ottumwa and accepts a Micro Miniature Electronic Circuit Design Technician position with General Electric in Oklahoma City. He started duties November 13 after completing coursework in Mathematics for Electronics and Computers electronics digital and analog logic programming and simulated job experience. Several major computer companies offered positions to Iowa Tech graduates.

Final Rites Held Friday for Ralph Skerritt

Ralph A. Skerritt born March 20 1890 on a Mills County farm died November 7 1967 at Mercy Hospital Cornell Bluffs after four weeks illness He lived most his life on the family farm near Malvern and moved with wife Mary to Malvern in 1966 He married Mary Whitesides March 3 1920 at her parents home and had daughter Catherine Jane He served as Osborne Valley School secretary for 40 years Township Chairman of the American Farm Bureau and Extension Service He joined the Silver City Methodist Church in 1903 transferred to Malvern Methodist in 1966 and held church offices for decades members of the Silver Church official board since 1918.

Iowa Tech Opens Courses with Quarterly Start Dates

The program runs six quarters over two years with classes starting each November, February, May and September. The average monthly salary cited is $580. Prior to enrollment, Mr. Irvin worked for the City of Malvern.

Speed fines handed to Glenwood drivers and others

Glenwood drivers Paul Belt and James Kizzier were fined $20 and costs for speeding before Justice Ernest Timmerman. Marvin Drake of Plattsmouth received $14 and costs, and Lola Irene Wearin of Hastings was fined $10 and costs on a speeding charge.

Obituary for Ralph Masonie Godge of Silver City

Ralph Masonie Godge of Silver City died aged in Silver City. He was preceded by his parents and a brother and survived by his wife Mary, daughter Catherine Hunt of Kal Malvern, son-in-law Ward Hunt, grandchildren Rodney and Sheila Hunt, four sisters and one brother, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Reverends E LeRoy Pullman and F Baymes at the Silver City Methodist Church with music, readings, and pallbearers listed.
