Local Visitors Compare Life in Europe and America
Mr and Mrs Walter Borstelmann and Mrs Elvira Gronstal spent weeks visiting Germany and Northwestern Europe and report major differences from the United States. They note extensive rail and city transport, high prices, modern rail stations, and large high rise housing while American rail passenger service declines. European meals are plentiful, cheese and milk farming are common, beer is widely consumed with water rarely served, and economic growth is evident across Western Europe.
