Hillsdale Bible School Opens June 4 At Church

The Hillsdale W. 8S. C. sponsors a two week Bible school starting Monday June 4 from 1 to 4 PM daily. A morning session runs 8 30 to 11 20 AM on Wednesdays June 6. Children of all ages are welcome to join the Christian fellowship.

Hillsdale notes Sunday cooperative dinner honoring Paul Hilton as he plans to move westward. Guests included Mr and Mrs R Hilton Malvern Charley Trively Randolph Bev Gray Omaha and others. Hillsdale area round of visits and gatherings noted

Many local residents share visits and dinners across Hillsdale, Glenwood, Malvern, and surrounding towns. Highlights include the Brower family relocating to Hillsdale from Thurman, cemetery grave decorating, farm and school year updates, and birthday cookouts for Harold Buffington and Forrest Bloomer. A church board meeting and Rural Improvement Club preparations for Children’s Day at Hillsdale are announced, with reminders to vote on June 4.

East Liberty Memorial Services Attract Good Attendance

Memorial day observance at East Liberty drew a strong crowd despite some families’ absence. The Rav LeRoy Pullman gave the address while choir numbers were sung by the congregation and St. John’s choir. Flowers were carried to the cemetery by several children and American Legion Harry Hammon Post members gave the salute. The church decorations featured home grown flowers and the day saw many floral tributes at the cemetery. Notable attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Sid Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Worl, Misses Josephine and Frances Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Butterfield, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Kate Haines, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Benedict.

Kristi Mickelson Birthday Party At Malvern Park

Kristi Mickelson celebrated her eighth birthday Friday with a party hosted by Mrs Theron Mickelson for a group of children. They enjoyed games at Malvern Park then ice cream cake Kool Aid and candy bars. Mr and Mrs C B Goodell visited Shenandoah Saturday and called on their daughter Mrs Harvey Vermillion and family. Mrs Elton Clay learned Friday that her mother Mrs Catherine Patterson of Primrose Nebraska died in a Council Bluffs hospital after weeks as a patient.

WSCS Meeting at East Lib Reports and Birthday

A WSCS meeting was held Tuesday afternoon at the East Library church. Mrs. Pullman led a lesson while Mrs. Claude Stephens presented the secretary and treasurer reports. A birthday for Mrs. Homer Mayberry was celebrated with cake and cards. Next meeting is set for Wednesday, June 6.
