Mrs Jacob Deardorff aged mother of HH A Deardorff died at the home of her son in the city on May 22 after a period of declining health. Brief services were held at the home, then the remains were taken to Yale Iowa for funeral services. She was 77 or 78, married to her husband more than sixty one years before his death in 1918, described as a faithful Christian whose life left a sweet, serene impression on those who knew her.
Mrs A B Judson of Silver City Iowa died May 20 1919 at age 62 years 11 months and 16 days after a long life of public spirit. Born June 4 1856 near Vicksburg Michigan she and husband Albert B Judson organized the local Grange and fostered community cooperation. She was active in the Methodist Episcopal Church Ladies Aid and exemplified cheerful faith. Survived by her husband Ida Graves and Cleva Brooks sisters and a brother of Mr Judson, funeral services were held at the Judson home with Rev By Ry Van Dyke officiating assisted by Rev My Bryans.

One man fled after pulling a gun at Glenwood, with 630 pints of whiskey seized and a $100 fine paid after legal process. In another chase near Hastings road, two cars were intercepted. 670 pints seized and $100 fines imposed, later paid by a friend.
