Malvern and nearby residents share visits and news from May to June. Mr. and Mrs. George Mellor traveled to Hiawatha Kansas to aid their ill grandson Stoddart. Omaha visitors and family gatherings appear frequently. Local sales and ads promote garments and seed corn while many residents travel, study, or attend regional events and games.
Mansfield's big ad promotes a Mascot Da Nite bed demonstration by factory demonstrator Miss Mae Moat at the store. The event is set for next Friday and Saturday, May 28 and 29, offering an out of the ordinary display for customers to view and try the bed.
A special Masonic meeting occurs Thursday evening at the Masonic hall with work in the second degree. W M J H Beckwith calls for good attendance and notes the event.
The Ladies Aid of the Christian church will hold a food and candy sale at Paullin's market on Saturday May 29 at 2 00 PM. Adv Mr and Mrs Arlie Cheek and baby of Chicago Ill are visiting his mother Mrs L B Jeep Miss Pearl Baker a Dunlap public school teacher is visiting with Mrs Dean Clem but will return to Grand River Iowa Neal Frank and family and Mr and Mrs Carl Wetterland and fam ily of Red Oak were hosted at C B Frank's for dinner Sunday that night they had a big picnic supper in the woods Mrs D B Killoren was able to attend church again last Sunday and visit friends
The Christian Church schedules Rev. C T Nearl as state evangelist to speak at 11 a m on Sunday. A Thursday 8 p m congregational meeting is listed along with Presbyterian notes and a Ladies Missionary meeting at Mrs J B Luts home led by Mrs D E Whitfield. Memorial service set for 2 p m at the Community Building. Baptist and other church notices include regular Sunday worship at 11 a m and 8 p m with Sunday school next Sunday. a Communion and member reception planned for the first Sunday in June.
Attendance efforts continue at the church with weekly and monthly gatherings. Sotior B and P U meet Wednesdays at 4 36 PM, Children’s World Cre sadera holds first Sundays at 3 30 PM, and Workers Conference meets first Sundays at 2 20 PM. Weekday choir rehearsal Wednesdays at 7 30 PM. No midweek or evening services this week due to public school activities and Decoration Day events. Sunday school at normal hour. May birthdays offered for Missions in recognition of Hit who gave life.
