St John’s Lutheran Ladies Aid met May 11 at 1 30 pm with eighteen members. Devotions were given on Let your light shine. Reports included Lutheran Womens Missionary League Zone rally with eighty six attendees. Guests came from Clarinda Yorktown Shenandoah Red Oak and Villisca. A tour planned for June 15 to Elk Horn and an antique museum at Oakland was discussed. Grace Seipold and Waive Leu served refreshments. Joann Poort, secretary.

Malvern BPW Club met May 9 at 7 p.m. in Randolph at the Methodist church with 18 members and two guests. New officers installed were Jean Mason president Ann Ewalt vice president Erna La Salla treasurer Joann Poort secretary, Mary Spiker officiating. Members will not donate club funds to Iowa Children Service. individual donations encouraged. The Malvern Area Betterment Comm Association schedules a potluck picnic May 19.

Plant Exchange Held At LTN Club May Meeting
LTN Club met at Mrs. Bill Zanders home on May 4 for a plant exchange and business session. Co hosts were Mrs. Gale Cronkhite and Mrs. Max Dashner. Members shared vacation plans or one day projects, enjoyed visiting, and exchanged plants by drawing numbers. Lunch was served. Next meeting will be an evening picnic at Malvern Gun Club park with families invited.

Brownie Friendship Day Set at Camp Neyati 1977
About 300 Brownies from twelve counties will gather May 21 at Camp Neyati for Friendship Day. Sixty five leaders plus ten Cadette and Senior Scouts plan activities under Mrs. James Delanter of Council Bluffs. The day features nature hikes songs games fire building macrame name tags and a friendship stick exchange with patches for participation. The Nishnabotna Girl Scout Council operates as a United Way agency.

Over a hundred attended the Sunday picnic with barbecued chicken and diverse dishes.

Verona Carlson of Red Oak joins Nishna Cottage as the community grows. Visitors Bob Barton and Rodney Bacon traveled to Glenwood on Saturday while Don Harris met Faye Louden. Doris Anderson and Faye Louden attended Sunday picnics at Nishna Care Center ending National Nursing Home Week with a carnival in the north hallway. Residents enjoyed games such as fish pond ring toss penny pitch balloon darts and prizes amid streamer and flower decor. The event was deemed a great success with thanks to Kenneth Hastings Pam Anderson and the writer's husband for extra help.
