Railroad detective visits town and local notes

Chariton railroad detective Harrison appeared in town Tuesday, with no reports of arrests. Friday, Carrier McCormick from Glenwood toured rural route 2 with the inspector pushing a countywide rural delivery plan. Henry Douglas bought 80 acres east of his home in Deer Creek township, boosting his farm to prominence.

Malvern Cemetery Trust Fund Seeks Donations from Public

Mrs Abigail Morrelstown of the county recently gave one hundred dollars to the Malvern Cemetery Association as a trust fund for caring for their lot and grounds. The Ladies Auxiliary Association is credited for much of the upkeep and fundraising. The Malvern Cemetery Association invites further contributions or bequests to sustain a permanent fund with interest used for grounds maintenance and support of workers. Trustees Wm I Rooney and A J Boston and secretary Jno D Paddock offer information.

May Festival at Tabor Featuring Hiawatha and CSO

The May Music Festival at Tabor runs May 25 and 26 with Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast performed by the Tabor Oratoric Society with orchestra May 25 at 8 p.m. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra appears May 26 at 2 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. with soloists Arthur Beresford, E. Malvern Club Delegation Delights Randolph Visit

A thirteen member Malvern C TB S delegation visited Randolph last Friday evening and enjoyed a warm welcome. After ceremonies, a dainty lunch was served and the travelers returned home in the early hours. Malvern High School Gains Full Accreditation

State University faculty votes to place Malvern High School on the fully accredited list. Principal Stewart notes graduates may pass directly to the university without examination. Letter dated May 17 1906 from Charles Bundy Wilson confirms the recognition and welcomes Malvern students.
