Silver City WSCS Elected Officers for Coming Year

Silver City WSCS met at the church on April 2. Mrs. Ralph Hansen led the worship and Mrs. George Milter taught the lesson with Methodist youth fellowship participants. Officers elected for the year include President Mrs. Eurel Anderson, Vice President Mrs. John Swarts, Secretary Mrs. Harvey Robertson, Treasurer Mrs. Loren Boyer, and others in roles such as promotion secretary missionary education social relations student work local church activities youth work children's work spiritual life literature and publications status of women supply work and more. Hostesses served lunch, and area residents shared visits during the afternoon.

Tremor residents host weekend visitors report

Mr and Mrs Henry Volkens hosted Gwen and Roberta of Tremor as evening visitors to Mr and Mrs Harold Scheel and Susan. On Sunday Mr and Mrs Art Miller visited in the home of his parents Mr and Mrs Fred Miller.

Silver City Methodist Church Weekly Schedule and Events

Worship at 11 am and church school at 10 am with Pastor W W Wetson and Superintendent Mrs Harvey Robertson. Intermediate MYF meets 2nd Wednesday, Senior MYF alt Wednesdays at 7 30, choir practice Monday 8 pm directed by Mrs John Swarts. Senior MYF skating party May 8 at Porters Skating Rink Shenandoah leaving church 6 15 pm. May 10 Mothers Day services with baptisms. May 13 Intermediate MYF and Senior group meetings at 7 pm and 7 30 pm respectively. Choir practice Thursdays spring and summer 8 pm. Baccalaureate May 17 evening. Public invited.

130 Guests Attend Annual Mother Daughter Banquet

The Silver City First Baptist Church hosted 130 guests for the annual mother daughter banquet with a morning and afternoon program. Guests enjoyed a prelude by Willa Pollman, tributes by Mrs. Ralph Hansen and the club, and a variety of songs and readings by local youth.

Barbecue Birthday Gathering Among Local Residents

A birthday barbecue was hosted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Franke and Dewayne on Sunday evening. Attending were the Schoening and Plumb families from near Council Bluffs, with other local visitors and relatives referenced from Council Bluffs, Stanton, Treynor, and Glenwood. Additional social visits included hospital news and Rainbow Assembly planning a mother and daughter tea.
