Cattle opened dull then firm all week with beef prices 15 to 20 cents higher. Choice cattle 1300 to 1600 pounds at 6.25 to 6.60. good 1200 to 1400 at 5.80 to 6.15. fair to good 1000 to 1200 at 5.25 to 5.75. Cows and mixed stock 4.75 to 5.50, 3.50 to 4.50. Stockers in strong demand, hogs mixed but generally higher with 200+ pounds 6.0 to 6.3 and lighter grades below.
Veteran’s Reunion Honors Delta Idaho Brother
A Glenwood dinner on Friday March 7 honored Ruben Gilliland of Delta Idaho by his brothers from the 29th Regiment Iowa Vol. with comrades from Glenwood Malvern Hillsdale and Washington. The gathering recalled 1865 service and included a piano performance by Anna Hopking Cosmopolis Washington, followed by a group photo at a local gallery.

Letter From 1902 Assessor Over Cattle Claim In Indian Creek
A letter dated March 6, 1902 from Irving Fisher, Assessor of Indian Creek, accuses John Schooning and Maxwell of not accounting for all cattle claimed to be in Indian Creek township. Fisher demands a true statement of all 125 head and where the cattle spend most of the year, warning of penalties and promising legal action. Also, a clipping reports the death of a ten week old baby boy, son of Mr and Mrs Allan Pierce, in Cleveland from pneumonia with funeral in Canal Dover.
