Valley Directors ask a State Department of Education consultant to advise on reducing costs next year amid rising per pupil expenses and potential changes in school laws. The board met after discussions with Supt. Joel Wedergren and held area meetings to gauge patron reaction to three options: close an elementary center, consolidate at the high school with mobiles, or build a new Hastings elementary with bond funding.
