Long life ends as Mills County matron Mary Hawley dies
Mary Hatton Hawley, born August 8 1806 in New York, died Monday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs John Neiman after a short illness. She was the oldest resident in Mills County and lived through four wars. Funeral held Tuesday at her daughter’s home with Rev W H Gable officiating. She married twice, left three children by her first husband Solomon Darling and two by James Clark Hawley. She would have been 100 in August 1906.
