Youth Employment Program Off to Good Start in Co
The Governor's Summer Youth Employment Program and the Neighborhood Youth Corps report a strong start with 47 youths hired by June 16. Participants aged 14 to 18 receive salaries and an introduction to work through orientation and counseling. Alumni Banquet At Strahan School Draws 50 Attendees
The Strahan Alumni Association held its 47th annual reunion at the Strahan Center, with over 59 attending the potluck supper. Alumni from 1922 to 1950 processed the tables, paraded branded decorations, and paid tribute to Everett Gipe and other deceased classmates. Officers were not elected and a three person committee was named to assist with future leadership. the 1931 class received special recognition and a film on teamwork was shown. Distants guests traveled from Hemingford, Crawford, Bellevue, Des Moines, Lincoln, Red Oak, and other towns to reconnect with former classmates.
