Oil industry sunflower drive could affect soybean market
NFO reports a campaign by the oil processing industry to buy large sunflower crops at 5 cents a pound, below production cost, risking lower prices for soybeans. NF O signed 20,000 acres at 5 cents with a premium for oil content, boosting Red River Valley income and spurring farmer-led market response across Nebraska, the Dakotas, and Minnesota.
