Regular Meeting of S. C. Rebekahs

The Rebekah Circle met at Mrs. Jim Bailey's home on June 5 with ten members and three guests including Mrs. Melvin Lamp of Minden. The meeting opened with The Lord's Prayer, roll call cited a favorite flower, and entertainment by Dirk Lincoln on behalf of Mrs. John K. Mass. Prize winners were Ann McCoy, Cliff Stewart, Larry Mass, Harvey Deitchler, Clyde Pratt, and Harley Attcherry.

Silver City News highlights social visits across region

Kensington Ladies Meet At Mrs Stewart Home

Mrs Cliff Stewart hosted the Baptist Ladies Kensington society with co hosts Mrs Earl Bobbitt and Mrs Wiley Clay. Ten members attended naming favorite Bible books and sharing devo topics and programs. Local visits and guests fill a busy social week across multiple nearby towns.

Funeral and family visit notes from Treynor area

Last Monday dinner guests at the Fay Morrical home included Mr and Mrs Alva Morrical Elizabeth and Jane of Bartlett. Wallace Olderoy of Treynor attended funeral services for his aunt Mrs Hans Schoening. He served as pall bearer. Donald Pullman attended the Lutheran church at Treynor Saturday evening. Mr and Mrs Kenneth Hammer and family of Glenwood and Mr and Mrs Paul Wilson and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Art Hiley at Avoca helping celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary. Monday evening visitors at the Paul Wilson home were Mr and Mrs Everett Blackman and Barbara of Tabor. Mr and Mrs Charles Saar visited her mother Mrs Eliza Kochenderfer at the rest home in Tabor Sunday.

Family gatherings and health news from Malvern Red Oak and beyond

The Sinner family joined relatives for a dinner at the Schroeder home in Malvern on Sunday. Tackett relatives gathered for the annual Tackett reunion at a picnic in Red Oak. W H Maddocks of Syracuse Nebr and two grandchildren Roger and Eva Will visited the farm here. Walter Stille and his mother Pearl Stille were in Council Bluffs for open house at Frank Griffiths home honoring aunt Ferdinand Lietz on her 80th birthday. Mrs Hugh Hayes learned last week her sister Mrs Donald McCampbell of North Platte Nebr suffered a light stroke but was able to return home after hospitalization.

Missionary Society Meeting Notes and Plans

The WSOS mission group held a January meeting led by the deaconess and president Mrs Hugh Hayes. Reports from secretary treasurer Mrs Claude Stephens. Reva Mae Phelps work cited. Dues paid and a yearly pledge to the district treasurer plus $1 to the school of missions. Next meeting set for Wednesday afternoon June 20 at the church. A lunch followed. A food gate planned at Pace's store in Malvern on Saturday June 23 starting at noon.

Sunday afternoon visitors included Mr and Mrs W Stotts with Mr and Mrs C B Goodell and guests Ralph Jackson of Glenwood and Richard Lect with Ricky of Council Bluffs. Ricky stayed all week. After services, the Windles visited Melvin Ferritt in Carson for a cooperative dinner honoring Mr Perri's upcoming birthday. Stille guests joined George Stile at Emerson.
