Tornado Hits Charles City Iowa Demolishes 200 Homes

A tornado swept Charles City Iowa on June 8 killing one man W R Beck and leaving four children missing. Stock was killed or injured, trees uprooted, and telephone wires were down as three thousand residents sought shelter in cellars. The storm spared business districts and most institutions, leaving a landscape of ruins and scattered household goods.
