Two Mills County Isu Orientation Leaders Named

Patricia Newell of Malvern and Thomas Osborn of Glenwood are named orientation leaders for the University of Iowa in Iowa City next fall. They will assist with orientation activities, contact new ads, draft letters, and plan faculty home visits in preparation for the campus program.

Former Malvern Teachers Sign With Other Schools

Several former Malvern teachers will teach in different systems next school year. Richard Krambeck moves to Nevada as assistant boys coach and physical education teacher. Raburn Benton will teach at South High Omaha commuting from Malvern. Richard Swett heads to Kearney Junior High. Mr. and Mrs. Fairbairn will teach in Dysart schools. Mrs. Krambeck plans no teaching except as substitute. A two car crash on Marion Ave May 27 caused $350 in damages plus lawn damage.

Warren Darrah, 61, becomes full time band director after part time duties since 1959 with 36 years in area public schools. Stanley N. Anderson, M. D., 55, joins medical staff June 1 with 26 years practice from Onawa. Robt. H. Muilenburg, 24, serves as Administrative Assistant for the summer while enrolled at the University of Iowa pursuing his master’s degree.

Two Bound Over to Mills Court on OMVI Charge

Two drivers were bound over to district court this week on the charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bound over by Justice of Peace Carl Remley were Phillip J. McMillin Offutt Air Base and Charles E. Doiel Hamburg. McMillin was arrested by Highway Patrolman Harry Weis Monday night on the highway east of Pacific Junction. Doiel was arrested in Malvern Tuesday night by Marshal C W Rich after Doiel had backed his truck into a car. Bands for each were set at 500.

Mills county sheriff reports a May crash on Highway 59, 244 miles north of Emerson, involving trucks driven by Hamilton Lewis and George Dill and car driver Thomas Breedlove. Dill alleged improper passing and Breedlove cited for following too closely. damages totaled 700 dollars across the three vehicles.
