Short Run at Omaha Monday Trade Trends Up
The Monday Omaha livestock run was short due to Memorial Day. Slaughter steers yearlings and heifers rose 25-50 cents, cows up to 50 cents, some 1 dollar higher. Hogs were firm to higher, fat lambs up about one dollar with many native Spring lambs near 26 dollars. Geo Richardson Dies in Fremont County Obit
George Richardson aged 84 longtime Fremont County resident died Sunday evening in Tabor after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home with Rev. William Lee and Elder Charles Fry officiating. Survivors include Mrs Lisle Weatherhead accompanied by Blanch Dalton.

George Edward Richardson born October 26 1869 in Wabash Indiana was the son of Jasper and Melissa Richardson. He moved to the Thurman area at 14 and married Etta Ross on March 22 1883. Wildlife Kidnapping Warning From State Conservation Commission
Late May and early June bring fishing picnicking and hiking in Iowa. The State Conservation Commission supports the first three activities but condemns wildlife kidnapping as cruel and unlawful. Many Iowans find baby deer rabbits raccoons and other young animals during outings and rescue them thinking they are abandoned. In most cases they are actually best left undisturbed.
