WLS CG Held Last Meet July 19

The WLS CG met for their last meeting Wednesday afternoon July 19, planning for a September return. Hostesses were Mrs. Marjorie Coyad, Mrs. Dorothy Laughlin and Fleming. Nims led Up To The Mountains, hymns and prayers closed the gathering, followed by a lunch and a first division sale.

East Liberty church social raises funds and praise

A church social at East Liberty sponsored by WLS drew a large crowd with home made ice cream cake pie iced tea and liberal cash donations. Over $32 was added to the treasury and the event was described as a fine social time for all attendees.

Richard Templeton Loses Eye in Firecracker Accident

Friends report a serious injury to Richard Templeton of near Red Oak after a July 4th firecracker exploded. He underwent surgery at Children’s Memorial in Omaha, where the right eye was removed. The left eye has limited vision but may improve. Templeton is the fifth child of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Templeton, long-time residents.
