New Officers Installed By American Legion Auxiliary
Silver City Legion Auxiliary met at the Legion hall with 14 members. Mrs. Wilma Jones installed the new officers for the coming year. Officers named were Helen Sanders president, Viva Miller first vice president, Evelyn Madison second vice president, Phyllis Skerritt treasurer, Harriett Hendrix chaplain, Grace McNay historian. Hostesses were Hazel Bobbitt and Ona McNay. The August meeting will be held August 10 with Laura Tasto, Herta Kessler, Hattie Cryer and Phyllis Skerritt in charge of the program.

Lynn Benson of Harlan Iowa has been named Extension Area Associate for Fremont Page and Mills counties. He begins Sept 1 with headquarters in Fremont and offices in Malvern and Glorinda. Benson, a Sidney native and ISU graduate in animal husbandry, will lead 4H youth programs and serve as county extension staff in a broader specialization plan announced by Carl McAlexander. He is married to Marilyn Brownlee and has one son two daughters.
