Four Arrested on Drunken Driving Charges in County

Four men were arrested last week on drunken driving charges in the county. Charlie Clark Ban Doxys of Bierenn faces a DUI after a crash at a bridge near Glenwood. Tur Anes A White, 26, of Glenwood, stopped at Key Creek bridge when a truck crossed into his car, causing damage. Diggs of Offutt Air Base and Clyde Calazier of Hallet were also detained on OMVI charges following separate incidents near Malvern and Glenwood.

Kilpatrick Dies After Long Illness at Randolph Area

W J Kilpatrick died Tuesday night at Clarkson Hospital Oma ine after more than a year of illness. He lived on a farm north of Randolph and had recently returned to hospital for checks. Survived by wife and three sons Colonel W D Kilpatrick Jr Mantyome Kilpatrick of Tahor Ta and Lt Kay Kilpatrick of Washington five grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements pending.

Tabor Malvern Junior Legion Play Thursday

Paul Phillips of Glenwood district baseball manager for Junior Legion has announced Walnut will host the 7th district Junior Legion playoff on July 6 8 9 and 11. Tabor opens Thursday at 6 30 p m versus Malvern with other pairings Massena vs Logan Defiance vs Walnut Audubon vs Lenox. Winners reach semi finals Friday and the champion ships Sunday at 2. This marks the fourth straight year Tabor advances to district tourneys.

Damage Reported in Silver City Accident

An estimated 250 dollars in damage occurred to the left side of a car driven by E Luke 22 of Lily when struck by a car driven by John K Mass 69 of Silver City. The accident happened about 9 am Friday on Main Street as Mass entered from a county road. Mass was traveling west.

Local families host guests across Fourth of July weekend

Mr and Mrs Clarence Lemonds and Marlin were July dinner guests in Glenwood. Marylyn returned home with them after visiting grandparents. Mrs Eliza Dye of Memphis stayed Friday night in Morris Woodill home and Saturday at the Kayton home. Mr and Mrs D B Clutes and Junior attended a Fourth of July picnic at Claire Darland’s Red Oak home. Myrtle Welda and Lyford Sabourin arrived from Chicago for a few days at Maudechenbach home and visited Joe Sabourin Jr in Kansas City. Mr and Mrs Jared Woodfill and family celebrated the Fourth in Omaha while Mrs Woodfill, Susie and Roger joined the Taylor living.
