Wheat Raisers in Trem Org county will vote at multiple polling places on July 22. Voting hours align with Central Standard Time in towns Conter Rawles White C1 Silver Creek Malvern ASC.
Four men were arrested last week on drunken driving charges in the county. Charlie Clark Ban Doxys of Bierenn faces a DUI after a crash at a bridge near Glenwood. Tur Anes A White, 26, of Glenwood, stopped at Key Creek bridge when a truck crossed into his car, causing damage. Diggs of Offutt Air Base and Clyde Calazier of Hallet were also detained on OMVI charges following separate incidents near Malvern and Glenwood.
Quad City softball standings show leadership returning to the Roth Packers after recent split leadership with Mineola and Tahor. Sunday results include Spaho 3 South Side Roosters 0 and Cal 7 vs Houesitten 0. Monday South Side Roosters beat Faber 3 7, weather affected Tuesday plans with Nath scoring 40 for Malvern, Glenwood tonight hosts Malvern and Tabar visits Toateas. Next Tuesday Boosters visit Malvern, Tabar versus Hamilton’s at Glenwood, EF and Mineola to play. W J Kilpatrick died Tuesday night at Clarkson Hospital Oma ine after more than a year of illness. He lived on a farm north of Randolph and had recently returned to hospital for checks. Survived by wife and three sons Colonel W D Kilpatrick Jr Mantyome Kilpatrick of Tahor Ta and Lt Kay Kilpatrick of Washington five grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements pending.
Paul Phillips of Glenwood district baseball manager for Junior Legion has announced Walnut will host the 7th district Junior Legion playoff on July 6 8 9 and 11. Tabor opens Thursday at 6 30 p m versus Malvern with other pairings Massena vs Logan Defiance vs Walnut Audubon vs Lenox. Winners reach semi finals Friday and the champion ships Sunday at 2. This marks the fourth straight year Tabor advances to district tourneys.
An estimated 250 dollars in damage occurred to the left side of a car driven by E Luke 22 of Lily when struck by a car driven by John K Mass 69 of Silver City. The accident happened about 9 am Friday on Main Street as Mass entered from a county road. Mass was traveling west.
A county board reaffirmed its stance not to modify two Corps of Engineers dams on the Iowa side of the Missouri River, four miles south of Plattsmouth Nebraska. They warn the structures could curb water flow and flood up to 5,000 acres of prime farmland across two counties.

Montgomery county churches plan an inter church rally at Red Oak on Sunday August 22 at 8 pm. Following last year’s centennial inter church service the county Ministerial Association votes to sponsor another event. Dr Reuben K Youngdahl of Mt Olivet Lutheran Church Minneapolis will speak. Red Oak High School band directed by Richard Simpson plays pre service concert and a massed choir will sing during the service.
Mr and Mrs Clarence Lemonds and Marlin were July dinner guests in Glenwood. Marylyn returned home with them after visiting grandparents. Mrs Eliza Dye of Memphis stayed Friday night in Morris Woodill home and Saturday at the Kayton home. Mr and Mrs D B Clutes and Junior attended a Fourth of July picnic at Claire Darland’s Red Oak home. Myrtle Welda and Lyford Sabourin arrived from Chicago for a few days at Maudechenbach home and visited Joe Sabourin Jr in Kansas City. Mr and Mrs Jared Woodfill and family celebrated the Fourth in Omaha while Mrs Woodfill, Susie and Roger joined the Taylor living.
Nebraska City social notes detail visits and travel among residents. McCormick family and others recount a week of fishing in Minnesota with unusually cold weather. Several Omaha and Fort Worth visitors call on local families, with trips to Keokuk Central City Pawnee City and Colorado Springs. Families include Crawford Peterson Watson Loomer Shaffer Phinhal and Yorek, with ongoing travel and postal gatherings.
