Iowa hog prices seen easing in coming months
Iowa State University economist Gene Futrell forecasts a lower trend for hog prices through late 1966 as the spring pig crop remains small despite a 10 percent rise from 1965. Cold pork stocks are down, demand for red meats stays firm, and competition from poultry lowers price pressure. Projected mid July to December prices: about 23, 21, 20, then 18-19 per 200-240 lb hogs at interior Minnesota markets.
