Editorial: Fireworks Free Speech and Taxes in Malvern

A Malvern editorial laments fireworks enforcement during the Fourth of July and questions the anti firework law while urging repeal or tighter limits. It urges stricter enforcement, notes a deadly Council Bluffs accident, and shifts to a call for taxpayers to attend budget meetings as school levies rise and taxes forecast for next year. It compares Iowa levy increases to national trends and cites Mill County town levies rising from 30.73 to 48.91 mills 1941 to 1947.
