June 30 ceremony at Red Oak United Methodist Church united Joyce Ilene Peterson of Emerson and Thomas L. Williams of Emerson in a double ring service. Malvern Mills County Iowa board of education met June 24 1968 in called session. Present were President Wortman and directors Axtell Hays Newell Washburn. The budget for General Fund expenditures 446254 dollars with General Fund tax 309325 dollars and estimated other income 136929 dollars. Schoolhouse Fund expenditures 567804 dollars with bonds and interest, tax 67304 dollars and Schoolhouse tax 22323 dollars. A 2 percent mills schoolhouse tax was authorized. A hearing date for the estimate was set.
