It Got Dark So Ball Players Quit It
The Malvern versus Macedonia base ball game last Sunday ended in a 4 to 4 tie after fifteen innings. Both teams were exhausted and evenly matched as pitchers McCord and Trede dominated with 21 and 18 strikeouts respectively. McCord allowed seven hits while Trede gave up ten. Malvern fielders Jones and Zanders sparkled with sensational plays, and Barkus made two notable Texas-league style catches. E Pace and Silvers kept pace at bat as Pace just missed a homer on a close play by a Macedonia fielder. The game was called due to darkness and will be replayed at Macedonia on a later date.
